We live in an era of digitization, where technological advances and digital innovations have changed our lives in ways we previously could not have imagined. The digital revolution has created a range of new opportunities and opened up a more connected and global society. But while digitisation has opened doors to a world of opportunity, it has also created divisions and exclusion for some groups. One such example is the digital exclusion that new arrivals in Sweden can face.

Combating this digital exclusion and building an inclusive society is an important challenge we face today. We must ensure that no one is left out and therefore initiatives and projects aimed at facilitating digitalisation for new arrivals are needed. One such project is “Digital in Sweden,” which has been created through a collaboration between Telia, DigitalTolk and several other partners. The project aims to offer support and explanations in the native languages of the new arrivals to facilitate their understanding and use of digital tools and services. By creating security and accessibility, the project contributes to integration and gives new arrivals the opportunity to take advantage of the opportunities of digitalization. For example, the project has introduced digital payment services, which has been a significant relief for participants who previously had to seek help at the library to manage their payments.

Events have been organised in several municipalities within the framework of the project, where new arrivals are invited and where experts and interpreters are on site. It is in these contexts that one really feels the special thrill of being in a room filled with a diversity of cultures and languages. Our interpreters really help to create a safe environment where our participants can feel a strong sense of trust in us. In this context, they are not only interpreters, but also act as teachers, friends and experts.

To be part of this magic when different organizations work together, to integrate new arrivals into society, is incredible and it is precisely through the inclusion of the competences of different individuals that has made the project succeed so well. Whether they are experts, technicians from Telia, representatives from banks or interpreters who understand the language and have experience of being new to Sweden, everyone is important for the success of the project. By being open to collaboration and exchange, companies can benefit from the collective knowledge and create a dynamic innovation environment that promotes growth and success. That is why I believe that cooperation between different actors is important and we should therefore continue to give priority to similar projects.

Ultimately, we all strive to be part of a community where we feel needed, seen and valued. In this project, I really get to experience a strong community that touches me. This project brings new opportunities and it creates hope. We will continue to include more.
